Post My betta barracks (drip system) project
Hello Every one,
Its been a long dream to build a betta barracks (drip system) and I have been planning about it for quit some time now.
Now the time has come and my wife is out of station and I could have all the freedom to mess up the whole house in processes of building this system :cheering: but have to finish it before Saturday night before my wife back home :???: .
Here are the details of my project.

Rough Diagram of the project

Image

The image above was the initial plane but I have made few changes.

The system contains of slotted angle metal rack, the rack contains of six levels each one little less the 4 feet in length and is 1 feet in width.

The system is going to house 40 bettas in 40 separate tanks. The tanks are 5 inch in length, 5 inch in width, and 7 in height. Each tank is capable of holding approximately 2 litters of water.

Rough Diagram of the tank

Image

All tanks will be made with 4mm glass, there will be a small gap (3mm) at the back of every tank for the water to over flow as you can see in the above diagram.
the over flown water will be collected in a collection tray in every level and then be drained to the sump from where the the water will be filtered and pumped back to the tanks through 3/4 inch PVC pipe.

There will be four levels of filtration in the sump and there will also be a heater in the sump to maintain optimum temperature in all the tanks during winter (cos thats when most of my bettas die cos of chillness ). water from the sump will go through a UV sterilizer before going to the tanks.

The rack is already done and the plumbing work has already started last night. will keep you guys updated as the work goes on.

Will be great if you guys can post your comments and suggestions.

Regards,
Ram.

the overflow slot will drain the excess water to..? if it is meant to drain to the next tank, wouldnt it be better to make a long tank with partition slots with overflow.. u can even design the slots to fit clear and tinted glass plates to flare ur bettas.. heheh! just a suggestion though.

The over flown water will drain to a collection tray at each level and then to the sump.

Any your system can work, just be sure that your pump has enough pressure capacity and be sure that all the drip valves are well balance. All the best. Hopefully by now you complete setup your barack and drip system.
